Terms & Conditions
Please read the following Terms & Conditions carefully before confirming your tour with Candy Tours Sri Lanka. By confirming a tour or travel arrangement with us, you acknowledge and agree to these terms.
1. Hotel Accommodation
The hotels mentioned in the tour itinerary are recommended based on our travel consultants’ experience and professional judgment. Hotel preferences can vary from one client to another. We recommend that clients review the official hotel website and recent guest reviews before making the final reservation.
If a specified hotel is unavailable, a similar hotel of comparable standard will be arranged as an alternative. Hotel availability is subject to confirmation at the time of booking
2. Travel Times & Itinerary
All travel times provided in the itinerary are approximate. Actual travel times may vary due to traffic congestion, weather conditions, road conditions, public events, or unexpected interruptions.
Travel times generally represent driving time and do not include stops for sightseeing, photographs, meals, refreshments, or other activities unless specifically stated. The itinerary may be adjusted when necessary due to circumstances beyond our control.
3. Vehicle & Driver Guide Services
Vehicle and driver-guide services are generally available from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM each day. These hours may be adjusted depending on the itinerary, activities, traffic, and other circumstances.
In the event of a vehicle breakdown, we will make reasonable arrangements to provide alternative transportation while the vehicle is being repaired. In the case of a major vehicle repair, the vehicle will be replaced as soon as reasonably possible, normally by the following day.
We will make every reasonable effort to ensure that the services and inclusions stated in the confirmed itinerary are provided.
4. Meals & Food
We recommend having meals at reputable restaurants and establishments that maintain appropriate hygiene standards. Guests with sensitive stomachs or specific dietary requirements are advised to inform us before travelling and consult their driver-guide regarding suitable restaurants.
Sri Lankan cuisine is known for its rich flavours and can be spicy. Guests who prefer less-spicy food should inform the restaurant when ordering.
5. Tipping
Tipping is entirely at the client’s discretion and is not compulsory. Tips may be given based on the quality and satisfaction of the service received.
As a general guideline, tips for waiters, bellboys and porters are approximately USD 1–2, while tips for the driver-guide are generally around USD 8–10 per day per couple or family. Driver-guide tips may be given at the end of the tour as a cumulative amount.
6. Natural Disasters & Unforeseen Circumstances
In circumstances such as floods, earthquakes, landslides, severe weather, road closures, or other natural disasters, the safety of our clients will always be our highest priority.
Where necessary, the itinerary, transportation arrangements, activities, or accommodation may be changed at short notice to ensure guest safety. We will make reasonable efforts to provide suitable alternatives where possible.
7. Adventure Activities
Adventure activities such as wildlife safaris, trekking and hiking, white-water rafting, elephant-related activities, water sports, and other adventure activities are undertaken at the client’s own risk.
Clients are responsible for following the safety instructions provided by activity operators and guides. Certain activities may have their own additional terms and safety requirements.
8. Client Responsibility
Clients are expected to provide accurate information required for booking and travel arrangements and to follow applicable local laws and regulations.
Clients should also follow reasonable safety instructions provided by the driver-guide, hotel, activity operators, and other service providers. Any special requirements, dietary restrictions, mobility requirements, or other arrangements that may affect the tour should be communicated to Candy Tours Sri Lanka in advance.
9. Changes to the Itinerary
Candy Tours Sri Lanka reserves the right to make reasonable changes to the itinerary when required due to weather, road conditions, hotel availability, government regulations, safety concerns, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Where changes are necessary, we will make reasonable efforts to provide an alternative arrangement of a similar standard.
10. Acceptance of Terms
By confirming a tour with Candy Tours Sri Lanka, the client acknowledges that they have read, understood, and accepted these Terms & Conditions.
